Perhaps rotting logs and lake water don't make a compelling composition alone, but something about this scene suggested a kind of horizontal rainbow of monochrome hues. It is these creamy tonalities that, previsualized and executed correctly, survive the transition from reality to the print, resulting in something extraordinary. See Lake Relection (2009) for the full story.
