I had been watching dissipating cumulonimbus over Tenaya Canyon from Olmstead Point, when suddenly in the last hour of direct light of the day the atmosphere began exploding to the east. Immediately recognizing a scene I had dreamed of committing to film for years, I rushed down to Tenaya Lake and found that the granite bays had been flooded by several days of afternoon downpours, presenting the illusion of floating these glacially deposited erratics upon the surface of the lake.
