I detoured from a quick trip into Yosemite Valley during a snowstorm one early March morning to survey this scene of quiet/riot alongside the Merced River. The compositional tension between the snow accented, keen edges of fallen boulders and the softly rounded form of the frosted live oak and linear pines, stands testament to the contrast of nature's intemperate and certain entropy with its equally resolute renewal of life.
