Range of Light Photography™ | Yosemite | Pohono Bridge, Solstice

Pohono Bridge, Solstice
Pohono Bridge, Solstice
June, 2001

Glowing in the evening's last rays of light, the Pohono Bridge seems to be as the sun itself, setting on the western horizon. The decidedly un-natural arch gracefully spans the Merced River in Yosemite Valley. Pohono is the Indian name for Bridalveil Falls, which is near, and may be translated loosely as 'blast of wind'.
